This basic one day Emergency First Aid training course for Parents and Child Carers, is designed for anyone who wants to learn about first aid and has a professional involvement or cares for children and babies. If your organisation don't have to comply with Ofsted requirements this course covers basic life saving and first aid for babies, children and adults.
Students on this course will learn basic first aid procedures and how to take charge in the event of an accident or illness involving children and babies.
The following ranges of subjects are covered:-
- Treatment of unconsciousness
- Child & Baby CPR training
- Child & Baby Choking
- Bleeding, shock & hygiene practice
- First aid responsibilities / priorities when dealing with emergencies
- Safety precautions within a childcare environment
- Dealing with medication/accident forms/calling an ambulance &first aid box usage
Requirements: Students are continuously assessed throughout the course.
Assessment is a multiple-choice paper and on-going practical assessment by the course trainer. A 3-year qualification will be issued to those who meet the criteria.
Paediatric First Aid certificates are valid for three years, Response First will send an automatic reminder to both the customer and the Paediatric First Aider three months prior to the expiry date of the certificate. Certificates can be renewed by attending an Emergency First Aid training course for Parents and child carers.
